A municipal civil guard (GCM) shot and killed, inside Osasco city hall, in Greater São Paulo, the deputy municipal secretary of Security and Urban Control, Adilson Moreira.
According to the city hall, before firing the shots, the GCM held the deputy secretary hostage, locked the access doors to the location and set up barricades.
The case occurred on Monday afternoon (6) after a meeting, at city hall, between the secretary and civil guards.
The civil guard handed himself in to the police at around 7:30 pm. The negotiation was conducted by teams from the Special Tactical Actions Group (GATE) of the Military Police.
According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of the state of São Paulo, the shooter was taken to the city’s 5th Police District, where he will be interviewed and charged.
“Expert examinations were requested and more information will be provided after registering the incident report,” said the SSP, in a note.
Access to the city hall was closed and the Municipal Palace can only be accessed by the police.
