A National Civil Defense team is being deployed this Saturday night (2) to help at least 24 municipalities affected by storms this Friday. The technicians are part of the Disaster Support Group (Gade) and will work in the planning of actions to mitigate the impacts of disasters.
The cities that registered disasters are Atalaia, Branquinha, Cacimbinha, Cajueiro, Capela, Colônia Leopoldina, Jacuípe, Jundiá, Limoeiro de Anadia, Maceió, Major Isidoro, Maragogi, Marechal Deodoro, Murici, Paulo Jacinto, Pilar, Quebrangulo, Rio Largo, Santana do Mundaú, São José da Lage, Satuba, Taquarana, União dos Palmares and Viçosa. The rains caused river levels to rise.
In addition to Civil Defense, the Armed Forces and the Federal Highway Police (PRF) will support relief and humanitarian assistance, through the use of vehicles and aircraft. The Ministries of Citizenship and Health will also participate in the task force.
Alert
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) released, this Saturday, an alert for risks of disasters caused by the accumulation of rain in Alagoas and Pernambuco. The forecast is that it will rain up to 100 millimeters until the end of the morning of this Sunday (3), which can lead to risks of flooding, landslides of slopes and overflowing rivers.
The areas identified as most at risk are the Metropolitan Region of Recife, Agreste Pernambucano, Zona da Mata Pernambucano, East Alagoano, Agreste Alagoano, Sertão Pernambucano, Sertão Alagoano and Borborema.
