The alert came after a Special notice of the Institute of Meteorology (INSMET), in which he reported on “the probability of rainfall in the provinces from Camagüey to Guantanamo, with numerous showers, rains and thunderstorms”, from today and during the weekend.
According to the Insmet, this is the result of an active tropical wave in the Eastern Caribbean Sea, which moved to the west-northwest after affecting Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic and that should become “an extensive area of low pressures in the vicinity of the Bahamas”.
