THE National Civil Defense sent this Saturday (27) a message to the cell phone of residents of the Federal District and 12 more municipalities of Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso to test the new emergency alert system for natural disasters.
Around 15h, the residents received a text message alerting to the Civil Defense System Demonstration Test Alert.
THE Alert appeared prominently on the home screen of the device and was accompanied by a sound warning of siren.
“Civil Defense: Demonstration of the new emergency alert system in the Federal District. More information, consult the Civil Defense website Alert,” says the message.
With the submission, the Ministry of Regional Integration and Development, a portfolio responsible for the Civil Defense, concluded the nationalization of the alert system.
After the implementation phase, the Civil Defense will send real alerts of disasters in imminent risk areas.
To receive the messages, No prior registration is required. The alerts will be sent according to the cell phone signal coverage on the 4G and 5G networks compatible.
The alerts were divided into extreme and severe. The extreme alert is considered by the Civil Defense to be the most serious. Because it is considered immediately urgent, the alarm will sound even if the device is in silent mode.
The Severus Alert message represents expected danger. Thus, the population will have more time to adopt the security measures that are indicated by the Civil Defense. In this case, the beep will not sound in silent mode.
Scare
The warning was reported in advance by the Civil Defense, but surprised unsuspecting residents. Through social networks, internet users reported that they were frightened to hear the sound signal.
After sending the warning, the Civil Defense went to social networks to clarify netizens.
“Received the warning there today? Calm down, it was just a test of the #defesacivilalerta! Today was just a demonstration,” said the organ.
