Santiago. Brigades of the Civil defense actively searching for the body of a man who allegedly jumped into the river Yaque del Norte from the Hermanos Patiño bridge in Santiago.

It is about Miguel Angel Frías, who would turn 72 years old on July 21, and according to versions still unconfirmed, he launched himself into the aforementioned affluent in the early hours of the morning.

Francisco Arias, regional director of the Civil Defense based in Santiago, said that witnesses realize that Frías launched himself, for which they activated the search from the Hermanos Patiño bridge to the Otra Banda dam, going through it several times, without obtaining results. .

He reported that the volunteers are searching to find the whereabouts of this disappeared person, and that the Civil Defense will not give up until they find his whereabouts.

“Personally I came to direct the search operation that we are carrying out, we have combed twice from the Hermanos Patiño bridge to the Otra Banda dam, the river is quite dirty, it is something very unfavorable, so the volunteers are trying to see if they find the supposedly disappeared person,” Arias said before the lifeguards set off for the last time today to make the tour again.

He said that he hopes in God to find the whereabouts of who he described as his friend Miguel Ángel Frías, a very dear person in Santiago, who has been said to be missing since dawn.
