SALCEDO.- The director of the Civil Defense (DC) of the Hermanas Mirabal province, called on those who pass through those places where landslides occur to be as careful as possible, since the rains that have been falling on this part of the Cibao region has greatly moistened the earth layers in portions of the northeastern localities.
The warning was made by the director of the DC, Francisco Javier Almanzar, who expressed that in this Hermanas Mirabal province the so-called critical points in relation to the issue in question are on the routes of the Tenares-Gaspar Hernández, Tenares-Los Cacaos- Monte Llano and Monte Llano- Salcedo- Las Tres Cruces.
The community leader also stated that in the aforementioned areas and during the rainy season, constant landslides occur that have endangered the lives of people who, whether on foot, in motors or in vehicles, travel through those localities.
In that sense, Almanzar indicated that the specific points that should be paid attention to are located in Curva Dura, Los Cayos, Las Jibaras, Las Flores and close to the Municipal District of Joba Arriba, adjacent to the province of Espaillat, this in the Tenares-Gaspar Hernández road section.
While regarding Monte Llano-Salcedo, the places to be careful, according to the brigade member, are in the communities of El Muerto, Los Azules, La Pailita and Las Tres Cruces.
