The Pro Santa Cruz committee sent a new letter to Mayor Jhonny Fernández to request, with urgency, a inter -institutional meeting that addresses avasallalamos in areas of high environmental value, such as ecological cord and botanical garden.
“Inaction is not an option when every day that passes is lost, due to illegality and systematic destruction, the natural heritage of the Ecological Cord”, Warns the letter signed by the president of the Civic Entity, Stello Cochamanidis.
The entity asks the meeting Monday April 28 at 10:00 in the facilities of the Committee. This is the second formal order made by the institution, after the application of April 16 did not receive an answer.
“The urgency is undeniable. We cannot allow neglect or inaction to be complicit in the destruction of our natural legacy, ”adds the document, which denounces an“ unacceptable predation ”of vital green areas for the city.
Civics fear that the loss of these areas directly affects the quality of life of the neighbors and the water security of the Piraí River. In addition to the municipal executive, The Committee seeks to meet with the Government, the Public University and collegiate entities to coordinate actions.
“The municipality cannot look next. We want the mayor to explain what he is doing to stop the illegal settlements and to sanction those responsible, ”said Cochamanidis days ago.
The entity also plans to go to the Departmental Court of Justice, to the Council of the Magistracy and the Public Ministry so that these institutions act in the face of the damage to the natural patrimony.
