With formations of military personnel, planes, tanks and defense and attack systems, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) graced the civic-military parade on Tuesday to commemorate the 211th anniversary of the signing of the Act of Independence.
The Paseo Monumental de Los Próceres was once again the stage where thousands of FANB troops gathered, who with flags, weapons, marching band and military chants showed the synchrony of all its components: Army, Aviation, Navy and Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
The day also celebrates the Day of the FANB in tribute to the independence struggle of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.
“Today, on this Monumental walk, before God and the flag, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, nucleus and heart of the Bolivarian shield, are presented,” exclaimed the military body prior to the parade that was led by the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, and the Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López.
The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, authorized the parade from the Miraflores Palace, where he spoke a speech in which he ratified that Venezuela maintains sovereignty in the face of attack by any empire, just as it did on July 5, 1811.
“As long as empires exist, we will continue to fight battles, that is why I ask the FANB to always remain alert against the curse of Santander, the same oligarchy that assassinated Sucre and that will end up in the dump of history. High alert,” he said.
The parade was conducive to displaying some of the weapons and equipment owned by the FANB, such as long-range systems, multipurpose and amphibious vehicles, anti-tank systems, and Sukhoi and F-16 aircraft.
«Today we continue to fly through the country, more than ever we will be in the air because Venezuela can be calm. We will continue fighting in the air,” said the military voice in charge of presenting the air parade.
People’s power and the Bolivarian Militia also paraded along Paseo Los Próceres along with a large inflatable doll of Super Mustache, the caricature linked to President Nicolás Maduro.
This July 5 marks the 211th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Venezuela.
This central act of the independence process began on April 19, 1810, when independence was proclaimed as an expression of the will of Venezuelans, thus removing Vicente Emparan, Captain General of Venezuela and representative of the Spanish Monarchy, which gave way to the formation of the Supreme Board of Caracas.
