In each country, the team will meet with diplomats, parliamentarians, civil society and the media to present the results of this project supported by the European Union.
The Asydd was built after 240 deliberative sessions held in the 24 states of Venezuela between October 2023 and February 2024, and validated in 48 assemblies in September 2024. This process made it possible to identify priority areas for Venezuelan society, such as the provision of goods public affairs, strengthening civic organization, defending unfulfilled rights and resolving critical local problems.
According to the criteria of the Civic Forum, it is imperative to activate all diplomatic and social capacities to begin a peace-building process in Venezuela, which is why they recommended that the international community consider the demonstrated democratic civility of Venezuelans; repression and human rights violations by the State, and the urgent need to respond to social needs.
«Therefore, at the FC we are committed to promoting negotiations with international support to resolve the conflict and build a horizon of fundamental agreements for the democratic recovery of the rule of law; protect the most vulnerable, ensure that the people most affected by the long crisis do not continue to suffer; build narratives of public action to counteract the constriction of civic space and restrictions on the exercise of political rights and rights of civic association; and continue in the enforceability of human, political, social rights and in the institutional and electoral reconstruction in Venezuela,” they shared in a statement.
