Civic Alliance recalls that on July 8, 2018 Ortega "sowed terror and a state of siege" in Nicaragua

the opponent civic alliance for Justice and Democracy recalled the massacre of July 8, 2018, in Jinotepe, Carazo. That day, they say, terror, death, hatred, destruction was “sown” “and a state of siege was established” in Nicaragua.

The group pointed out that four years after the so-called “cleaning plan”, where the Ortega mobs also attacked Catholic priests and human rights defenders, “the murderers remain unpunished; but they will pay for their crimes because justice always comes».

Daisy George West, a member of the AC, told Article 66 that «justice is still pending and the impunity of the ORMU regime remains intact. It is unfortunate that in the light of the international community, all legal instruments related to human rights continue to be violated.

He remarked that on July 8, 2018, the regime acted “in the famous cleaning operation, carrying out an act of terrorism, murdering men, women, and young people who demanded their citizen rights, continue to imprison arbitrarily, violating due process, total censorship of the freedom of expression, arbitrary confiscation of media assets, forcible expulsion of the opposition into exile.”

“Nicaragua as a whole lives in a prison, only in this way, with repression, can they be in power, for this they live by injecting perks to the members of the body of power (…) But the spirit of freedom of the people is still manifest, the resistance is real. Because we all long for Nicaragua to become a Republic again », he indicated.

For her part, the vice president of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, celebrated in advance on Thursday, July 7, the repressive actions perpetrated against opponents who had erected barricades in protest against her regime, where a contingent of at least 2,000 armed men ended the life of 32 people in Jinotepe, Carazo, in the context of the 2018 demonstrations.

«Tomorrow we celebrate the fourth anniversary there in Jinotepe, in the department of Carazo, of that defeat; a defeat forever, because it is not with blood, it is not with crimes, it is not with destruction, it is not with suffering that progress can be made to fulfill the rights of a people”, anticipated the spokeswoman for the dictatorship.

In a clear attack against opponents, the first lady stressed that four years ago the “terrorist coup in our Nicaragua” was defeated; and defeated they continue because here reigns love, harmony, motherhood, brotherhood, peace, the common good».

He claimed that the 2018 protests were a “diabolical attempt” to dominate his regime through “hate, but that did not happen, nor will it ever happen. That diabolical attempt to dominate us with hatred did not get anywhere, rather defeated they continue. They couldn’t and won’t!”

Ranting against the Catholic Church, the coordinator of the communication and citizenship council said that “it is not with false voices that they think they are proclaiming the name of God, when they are assassinated, blocking, kidnapping, destroying the country.”

«They think they proclaim from falsehoods, from infamy something that obviously they could not and cannot sustain because it is a lie. False prophets, false proclamation », he mentioned.

He also accused the religious leaders, who were attacked by the Ortega mobs in the Minor Basilica of San Sebastián, in Diriamba, of using the name of God in vain.
