Ciudad MAPA arrived in Pilar with 100% sold out tickets for its first week

The non-profit organization MAPA: Abriendo Caminos inaugurated in Pilar the largest children’s art exhibition in the country, “Ciudad MAPA”, and for its first week it already registered 100% of the tickets sold out. The exhibition will run until February 26.

MAP City is the first city in the world created by and for children, and has an educational tour of 7 unique spaces to let the imagination fly and stimulate the creativity of its visitors. In the seven spaces you can see the works created by boys and girls from 14 cities in the country that are part of the Explorers program on a tour that invites you to live a unique experience.

In the middle of last year CIUDAD MAPA was a success in Asunción with the participation of more than 7,000 people, 85 volunteers, and 50 partner companies. Pilar is the starting point of your journey through different parts of the country.

“Ciudad Mapa Pilar means for Mapa Abriendo Caminos a promise fulfilled in terms of the exhibition tour through different cities of the country and the objective of decentralizing access to art and culture for boys and girls” highlights Catalina Bautista, Creative Director and co-founder of MAP Opening Roads.

Ciudad MAPA is carried out in partnership with the Municipality of Pilar and has the support of different companies and organizations as allies: Itaú Foundation, Personal, MuCi, Copipunto, the National Secretary of Culture, Itaipu Binacional, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and local companies such as the Pilar Plaza Hotel and Don Aquito, among others. In addition, Ciudad MAPA has 150 university volunteers from Ñeembucú.

. It is free to enter and open to the public.

For admission, groups of up to 25 people are formed who enter for guided tours every hour. Parents, teachers and/or guardians must previously register the children and adults who accompany them.

They will be able to experience the magic of the Dream Factory, the Children’s Museum, the Jaguarete Park, the Black and White Theater, the Garden, the Cinema, and the Central Paseo that has a mural created by Estudio 8 and that will be the great stage for cultural programming.

“We need quality spaces designed for children, which are accessible, unique, where they can broaden their horizons and encourage more. It fills us with pride to know that today this space is MAPA City and that today it reaches boys and girls from the south of the country,” says Magali Cáceres, Executive Director of MAPA: Abriendo Caminos.

CULTURAL PROGRAM

On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, the city opens its doors to everyone to enjoy the cultural program that consists of different artistic numbers that highlight local and national talent.

No prior registration is required, it is 100% free and the next activities are:

Saturday the 18th at 6pm there will be the Ruth Encina Dance Academy; on Sunday 19 at 6:30 p.m. there will be a concert by the local band Overdrive who will be the opening act for the Nivaclé singer-songwriter Bianca Orqueda; on Saturday 25 at 6:00 p.m. the Mainumby Artistic Institute; and on Sunday 26 at 6:00 p.m., the Roots of Paraguay Municipal Folkloric Cast will be in charge of closing the cultural program.

ABOUT THE MAPA ASSOCIATION ABRIENDO CAMINOS

MAP: Abriendo Caminos is a non-profit organization whose objective is to promote the development of soft skills and the creativity of children aged 7-12 through art. To date, they have reached more than 10,000 boys and girls in 20 cities of the country with their programs and activities. It was declared of educational interest by the Ministry of Education and of cultural interest by the National Secretary of Culture.
