The ENRE (National Regulatory Entity for Electricity) and the CONICET (National Council for Scientific and Technical Research) carried out a survey on the users of the City of Buenos Aires and some regions of the suburbs that would assume the rate full of electrical energy.
The analysis made it possible to identify almost half a million families who would no longer receive subsidies in the receipt of energy. The report dissected the areas with residents who have higher purchasing power where they could take the real charge of the rates.
The survey to discuss the segmentation of the rates took into account the value of properties in the area. If this action is implemented, it will reach some 487 thousand users of the service in the AMBA (Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area).
The segmentation plan has already been delivered, in a first phase, to the Ministry of Economy and the Secretary of Energy, to establish available tools and use them at the time they deem appropriate.
The implementation of the plan is in the hands of the head of Economy, Martín Guzmán, who seeks to adjust the disbursements of the Executive, according to the recommendations of the IMF (International Monetary Fund), with whom an agreement was reached in recent weeks.
Who should pay more?
The neighborhoods of Buenos Aires where I should be older the monthly payment are: Recoleta, Puerto Madero, Belgrano, Núñez and Palermo. Some areas of Colegiales, Villa Urquiza, Retiro, Villa Devoto, Saavedra and Caballito will be taken into account.
Some 370,000 users would be based in these neighborhoods, to which 68,000 families from Vicente López and San Isidro would be added, in addition to 48,000 residents in 466 private neighborhoods of the Province of Buenos Aires.
The proposal indicates that they would pay the rate complete properties valued at $3,700 per square foot. In addition, users of the sector in all its strata and businesses and industries that consume less than 300 kilowatts will be left without subsidies.
