Movimiento Ciudadano recalled that the Constitution establishes that plurinominal senators, that is, those who are not elected in the elections, must be assigned proportionally to each party according to its percentage of votes obtained.

The INE has assigned MC a total of five senators, equivalent to 3.8% of the votes registered on June 2, despite the fact that the party won 10.8% of the votes at the polls.
“The allocation that is intended to be granted for the formation of the Senate of the Republic commits an injustice that contradicts the law, devalues the citizen vote and puts the democratic balance at risk,” said Dante Delgado, national leader of MC.
