The Department of Social Prosperity through Citizen Income will be delivering a series of subsidies for households in conditions of extreme poverty. In this scenario, the entity had confirmed a date for sending the payments to its beneficiaries that there would be some delays. What is the reason for this?
The reason why Citizen Income payments have been delayed
Through their social networks, Gustavo Bolivardirector of said institution, had previously reported in July information related to the payment schedule that people who are active in the program will receive.
“In September we are going to expand that universe to all extreme poverty, that is, with Colombia without Hunger: we are going to impact three million households and that payment will be made on September 11.“, he said.
But unfortunately, this date was not met and therefore, Bolivar indicated that the entity will await instructions from the Ministry of Finance, according to the report El Tiempo newspaper.

“There are delays in these payments because the Ministry of Finance has not sent us any money. But even if there is a delay, we always pay. It is a commitment that exists and we must fulfill it,” he added. Bolivar after attending an event in Cereté.

Cereté News Through a video posted on social media, he indicated that the director of Social Prosperity and his officials have held meetings with the Ministry to resolve this situation. “We already have the platform ready, but they haven’t given us the money yet.”

“In September we are going to pay two cycles, but I think it will be just one because the funds will not be enough. But next month (October) we will pay the other one,” he said.

What are the outstanding Citizen Income payments?

– September 11: first payment of Citizen Income for its Colombia without Hunger program.
– October 30: new payment for Care Assessment and Colombia without Hunger.
– December 26: last payment of 2024 for all beneficiaries of Care Assessment and Colombia without Hunger.
