Citizen Income 2025: these are the payment dates for beneficiaries

He Government of President Gustavo Petro has launched Citizen Income, a program of periodic monetary transfers aimed at the most vulnerable families in the country. This subsidy, which can reach up to $400,000 monthlyaims to combat poverty and reduce structural inequalities in Colombia.

The program is designed under four lines of action that respond to the specific needs of different population groups, initially selected according to their SISBEN IV score.

Citizen Income is emerging as one of the Government’s main strategies to combat extreme poverty in Colombia. It is aimed mainly at households classified in Group A of SISBEN IV, prioritizing those with greater vulnerability.

The program seeks not only to address immediate basic needs, such as food and essential care, but also promote conditions that allow families to escape poverty in a sustainable manner.

Lines of action of Citizen Income

1. Care Assessment
   This line focuses on the poorer households facing additional barrierssuch as the care of children under 6 years of age or people with disabilities who require special care. The beneficiaries, belonging to Group A of the SISBEN IV, will receive $500,000 every 45 days.
2. Colombia without Hunger
   Oriented towards homes, also Group A of SISBEN IV, This line seeks to guarantee the food security of families with children under 18 years of age. The amount delivered varies depending on the composition of the household, and can reach up to $500,000 per home.
3. Capacity Building
   Designed for households in moderate poverty, this subsidy provides an annual bonus that ranges from $500,000 and $1,000,000. Access is conditional on meeting objectives that help households overcome poverty in a sustainable manner.
4. Emergency Care
   This component offers financial assistance to people or communities affected by natural disasters, social or economic emergencies. The amount awarded depends on factors such as the magnitude of the emergency, geographic location and available resources.

When do they pay Citizen Income in 2025

In 2025, payments of the Citizen Income They will continue to be held every two months, following the programming established by the Government. The sixth cycle began on December 27, 2024, although for unbanked people the start date will be January 15, 2025. On the other hand, the seventh cycle is planned to be executed during the month of January of this year.

It is important that beneficiaries remain attentive to official announcements, which will specify both the exact dates as the points assigned to receive payments.
