Citibanamex considers that there are no legitimate legal grounds for the judge to have issued this precautionary measure, which is not yet effective.
In addition, it considers that the allegations made by Oceanography are unfounded.
This Friday, it was announced that a judge of the 71st Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City granted Oceanography a document with precautionary measures to prevent the sale of Banamex, unless 5.2 billion dollars are paid.
In 2014, Citigroup said that Banamex had been defrauded through Oceanography of $500 million. However, the bank has not been able to prove to the authorities that there was fraud against it, so the shipping company is claiming compensation for damages.
