The Circles of Grandmothers and Grandfathers, an initiative that is part of the Great Mission Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the Homeland, are aimed at strengthening community organization and guaranteeing the comprehensive protection of older adults in Venezuela, as reported by the Vice Minister of Organization and Participation of Older Adults, Diógenes Linares.
In an interview for the program “Café en la Mañana”, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he highlighted that this proposal is an active participation mechanism that allows older adults to organize in their communities, build concrete action agendas and channel proposals based on their real needs in order to improve their quality of life.
Likewise, Linares explained that the entire adult population of the country is called to be part of these circles, without political distinction. “The important thing is that they want to participate in the development, enjoyment and enjoyment of the Great Mission Grandparents of the Homeland,” he expressed.
In that sense, he detailed how the Circles of Grandmothers and Grandfathers of the Homeland can be formed: the process begins with the agreement between 10 to 20 older adults who reside on the same street, sector, commune or communal circuit. Subsequently, they must call a community assembly and carry out individual registration through the official portal: https://registroadultomayor.minaamp.gob.ve/
The Great Mission of the Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the Homeland contemplates four corners to guarantee the comprehensive care and well-being of older adults: comprehensive health, social protection, organization and participation and good living.
