The president of ASSE, Leonardo Cipriani assured this Saturday that the Hospital Vilardebó is not going to close and will be transformed into a “Police Hospital”, for patients imputed by the Justice.

In an interview with Underlined, Cipriani also reported that due to the crisis generated by the Covid-19 there are 20,000 more users in the State health system (ASSE).

On the other hand, Cipriani reiterated that the National Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology (INOT) will cease to be the Covid 2 Center to return to receive the patients it treated before the arrival of the pandemic.

The INOT functioned as a covid center but in December, after the low hospital demand required by the pandemic, it will resume its normal function.

According to the president of ASSE, it is estimated that By the end of the year, 80% of the surgeries that were delayed will have been performed for the pandemic.

Cipriani was consulted by journalists Alfredo Dante and José Irazabal about the criticisms made by social organizations for an alleged misapplication of the law of voluntary interruption of pregnancy, which led these organizations to request his resignation. “We have 51 teams across the country and they are working properly. We did two reviews (of the groups) and we will continue to do them. I am interested that the ASSE user remains calm, because they are working well. This is not a problem at ASSE, ”he said.
