Attendance at movie theaters in Venezuela remained stable last year, when there were 7.81 million spectators, an increase of just 0.3% compared to 2023, when there were 7.78 million people, according to data of the Film Industry Association (Asoinci).
The three most watched films in 2024 in Venezuela were animated, with ‘Inside out 2’ – from the American film studio Pixar – leading the way, registering an audience of one and a half million attendees during the 17 weeks projection, Indian the director of Asoinci, José Pisano to EFE.
In second place is ‘Despicable Me 4’, from Illumination, with 613,071 viewers; and in the third, ‘Moana 2’, the Polynesian adventure from Disney studios, still in theaters, with 527,800, according to Asoinci’s record.

All over the world, ‘Inside out 2’ was the highest-grossing film of last year, with 1,698 million dollars raiseds, followed by ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ and ‘Despicable Me 4’, with 1,338 million and 969 million dollars, respectively, according to data distributed by the Box Office Mojo website.
The sequel to ‘Inside out’ premiered in the summer, breaking all box office records, and in six weeks it became the highest-grossing animated film in history, surpassing ‘Frozen’ (2013).
It is also the first animated film in history to exceed the $1 billion grossing threshold.
In Venezuela, cinema attendance was close to 30 million viewers until 2015, which then decreased and reached 11 million in 2019, before the blow that the pandemic meant for this and other sectors, so the country It has not yet reached the pre-covid level.
