Through Facebook, two young people exchanged provocative messages that culminated in a tragic confrontation in the municipality of Cimitarra, Santander. Yeimis Daniela Vargas Parra, 19, was murdered after being summoned to a deadly fight.

The confrontation occurred in the early hours of September 21, after Vargas and his attacker, Nicol Alexandra Torres, exchanged audio messages and defiant messages on the social network.
“Come here, I’ll confront you and we’ll see who survives, you snitch,” were some of the words of the alleged attacker directed at Yeimis Daniela, who also responded with provocative messages.
According to local media Vanguardia, the altercation took place in the Los Pinos neighborhood, where Yeimis Daniela arrived accompanied by another young woman. On the other side, Nicol Alexandra Torres also arrived with a companion and carrying a knife. In the middle of the fight, Yeimis received two stab wounds in the abdomen that left her seriously injured.
The young woman was immediately taken to the San Juan de Cimitarra Hospital, but due to the severity of her injuries, she was transferred to a larger medical center. However, despite the efforts of the doctors, Vargas Parra died shortly after.
The alleged aggressor voluntarily surrendered
Nicol Alexandra Torres, identified as the alleged attacker, voluntarily presented herself to the authorities accompanied by her lawyer. Although she has not been arrested, the judicial process is expected to continue its course.
The families of both girls are calling for justice, while the community remains dismayed by this tragedy that has shaken the region.
