Cimex denies news about the commercialization of fuel in MLC

The Cimex Corporation denies the news that is circulating on social networks about the commercialization of fuel in freely convertible currency (MLC) as of Monday, November 1, the entity reports on its social networks.

“This news is false. We inform our clients that the fuel continues to be marketed in CUP through the different existing means of payment.”

Clarification on problems with fuel cards in national currency

Considering that we have received from various clients complaints or concerns about the inconvenience with fuel cards in national currency, it is necessary to clarify the following:
CIMEX service centers operate various electronic means of payment.

Prepaid chip cards, issued by FINCIMEX mainly for the state sector, function as a wallet, and within the chip they contain the amount of money according to the fuel or service enabled. These, when passed through the sales terminals (POS), allow you to check your available balances and offer tank filling services.

In contrast, magnetic stripe or bank cards do not access the refill service, since issuing banks do not allow issuing banks to previously consult the balances of the accounts against which they operate, due to the security and discretion of the banking systems themselves to their clients.

These cards have the advantage of increasing the reliability and immediacy of the services, reducing the use of cash, transferring deposits and managing with banks seeking to divide up significant amounts for refunds.

As collateral side effects, in very few cases, there are disruptions in communications, between the POS and the banks that issue the cards, where the money deposits are located, or between the POS and the dispensers that execute the dispatches.

Seeking to minimize these collateral effects, applications were enabled in the acting systems and we worked with ETECSA to improve connectivity and bandwidths, where possible, according to existing availabilities.

To fill the tanks with strip cards or disposable prepaid cards, estimated amounts of fuel are requested to complete the tanks of their vehicles, and if there are volumes exceeded, the amounts in money equivalent to the liters charged are returned to the same cards. that did not fit.

When the communications between the servicing centers and the issuing banks are affected and these cannot be resolved, the clients must attend the nearest FINCIMEX offices in the different territories, to manage the returns.

The foregoing does not justify that some employees in the service centers do not fully master these alternatives or do not correctly advise clients in the face of these or other difficulties, being our responsibility to continue training them.
