Cilia Flores: Venezuela remains with conscience and dignity in defense of peace

During the Binational Prayer Meeting for Peace, held at the Miraflores Palace, the first lady of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Cilia Flores de Maduro, highlighted the conscience and dignity with which the people defend the peace of the nation.

Flores de Maduro stressed that in different spaces reflections are heard about the country: “What is happening in Venezuela? How is it possible that Venezuela, being a country that is besieged, blocked, threatened and attacked, has a people that continues its struggle, that continues to stand, that continues to work, and that it is such a prosperous country, that its people are a happy people, willing to maintain their dignity, a people in revolution?”

In his speech, he emphasized that many cannot explain it, but that the answer lies in leadership and national unity: “In Venezuela we certainly have a president who leads a people. There is a country project, we have a Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) prepared and united, we have an extraordinary people that remains with conscience and dignity, defending its territory, its sovereignty, its Constitution and the peace of the Republic.”

Likewise, he pointed out that spiritual strength is an essential part of the Venezuelan resistance: “The great truth about Venezuela is that what happens is not a phenomenon. Here we have our Lord Jesus Christ at the head of Venezuela; the president has given him that power, it is God who is there. Nothing happens here that is not in the hand of God. It is our faith, our prayer, the prayer of the people, and it is that God who will not allow anything negative to happen here.”

Finally, he reaffirmed the hope and commitment of the Venezuelan people. “If God is with us, who can be against us? We will continue to prosper and Venezuela will continue to be a country of peace.”
