The director of the Criminal and Criminal Scientific Investigation Corps (Cicpc), Douglas Rico, traveled to Zulia, to thoroughly investigate the attacks recorded this Saturday February 18 to two commercial establishments in Maracaibo.
The highest authority of the Cicpc reported on his Instagram account @douglasricovzla, that he is accompanied by the heads of Organized Crime, Terrorism, Extortion, Kidnapping, who will work together with the heads of the entity to investigate the facts.
“Today I moved to Zulia state in the company of the heads of Organized Crime, Terrorism, Extortion, Kidnapping in the company of the heads of the entity, we will thoroughly investigate the events that have kept our Marabino people in anxiety,” Rico wrote.
This team will initiate the investigations that will find those responsible for the events that took place this Saturday, February 18, at the Tu Finca Express butcher shop, located in the Cecilio Acosta road corridor and at Samba Latino Supermarkets, located at 78 Dr. Portillo street with Avenida 15 Delicias, left a balance of 9 people injured.
Likewise, the Chief Commissioner of the Cicpc affirmed: “I will not rest until I achieve the total dismantling of these dangerous criminal groups.”
One of the injured in the attacks died this Sunday
Unfortunately, in the morning hours of today, Sunday the 19th, the death of one of the injured was announced, due to the fact that the bullet impacts caused damage to their organs.
With these two attacks, the attacks by terrorist groups on the Zulian business community in February 2023 rise to three. On February 9, they threw grenades against the emergency at the Clínica Paraíso, on University Avenue in Maracaibo. There are no detainees in this case either.
The attacks that took place on Saturday, February 18, left one person dead and eight injured, some of whom are in serious condition.
