The director of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc), Douglas Rico, reported the capture in Caracas of detective Nazareth López Martínez (23), who cooperated with the highly dangerous Jeison Comino gang.
According to the report, the former official, who had been in the detective force for eight months, was detained during a procedure carried out on Urdaneta Avenue.
She took advantage of her rank and knowledge within the police institution to maintain constant communication with members of the criminal organization, linked to the crimes of extortion, kidnapping, robbery, homicide and trafficking of psychotropic substances and narcotics.
“López was granted an arrest warrant for treason, obstruction of the administration of justice, aggravated criminal association and terrorism, before the Second Special Court of First Instance in Control Functions with Jurisdiction in Cases Related to crimes associated with Terrorism with National Jurisdiction and Competence to know and decide on crimes associated with corruption and organized crime,” adds Rico in his report published on Instagram.
The case was sent to the 69th Prosecutor’s Office with National Competence of the Public Ministry.

In San Juan de Los Morros, Guárico state, Yeury Jesús Velázquez Aponte (30) was arrested, who presented an arrest warrant by the 33rd Control Court of the Criminal Judicial Circuit of the Caracas Metropolitan Area for homicide classified as treacherous. The offender was placed at the disposal of the office that required him.
In the Ambrosio Plaza municipality (Miranda), Jorgenis Stanley Malaguera Ramírez (25) was arrested, responsible, along with two subjects – fugitives – for stealing $6,500 in cash that belonged to a 57-year-old man. For the crime, the criminals used a firearm.
