The director of the Criminal and Forensic Scientific Investigation Corps (CICPC)Douglas Rico, through a publication on his Instagram social network account, reported the recovery of more than a ton of strategic material and the detection of seven subjects, in Mariche, Miranda state, who were engaged in the theft of ferrous material, belonging to the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec).
“This material is intended for the tension of the cores of the transformers, in order to solve a large part of the problems that the communities present,” he said.
Director Rico indicated that the investigation work was carried out by sleuths from the Theft Investigations Division and officials from this unit, at kilometer four of the old Petare-Mariche highway, Julián Blanco sector, Filas de Mariche parish, Sucre municipality, Miranda State.
The detainees were identified as: Daniel Alberto Barrios Sosa (40); Inginio Alcadio Mata Guerra (35); Carlos Alexi Jerez Quitian (50); José Ramón Cornivell Gil (26); Kilver Yonaiker Vargas Gazcon (27); Edgar Alexander Vargas Galindez (47) and Alí Jonathan Cárdenas Ochoa (44), who had in their possession a Ford Cargo, license plate 98ZABL, a Ford 7000, 1,700 kilos of strategic material, without documentation to justify its origin.
The citizens were placed under the order of the 68th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry of the Caracas Metropolitan Area in Matters of Crimes against Corruption.
