Former President of the Olympic Boxing Federation of Panama and Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of Panama, Tomás Cianca, spoke about Atheyna Bylon’s beginnings in boxing in 2012 and how she has worked to reach the point of competing for an Olympic gold medal.
“Training, planning and the seriousness with which you take it, makes you achieve these kinds of results. I call on the sports leadership to use the good example that has been achieved. I believe that if the leadership, the State and the private sector come to an agreement, we would not only have an Atheyna Bylon, we would have other athletes in other disciplines,” said Tomás Cianca.
Bylon’s achievement of reaching the gold medal final has transcended borders and international media have highlighted her great performance at the Olympic Games.
