“Almost all of us have African descent, but also a lot of Spanish. My great-grandfather was Spanish. That rhythmic fusion that you have is combined with the African part and this is Afro-Cuban jazz (…). That is there, in the DNA, ”she assured.

The musician considers his father’s work an “example”, baby valdesalong with Spanish Diego El Cigala in black tears, because “that was the merger that went off”.

“Music is universal, and it is also the soundtrack of life. Throughout our lives there are moments in which music takes us to one time or another (…). Music expresses everything, sometimes without words”, proclaims the 81-year-old Cuban artist.
