Chronicler Hilario -Lalo- Gómez dies

The sports chronicle loses, once again, one of its children. This is Hilario-Lalo-Gómez, who was found lifeless in the bathroom of his residence after suffering a heart attack on Friday night.

Gómez’s death leaves three children orphaned. He was 55 years old at the time of his death.

The remains of the communicator will be exposed at the Blandino de Herrera funeral home until one in the afternoon, from where they will go to the Rancho Arriba municipality of San José de Ocoa, where he was from and there he will be given a Christian burial.

Lalo hosted the Meta Deportiva program for several years, which began on channel 4 and which for several years had been broadcast Monday through Friday on CDN Deportes from 7 to 8 p.m. together with Américo Celado and Julio Castro. “We found him dead in his house, in the bathroom, both William Almánzar (cameraman for the program) and myself,” Castro said. Several personalities have expressed their condolences to Gómez’s relatives, including Francisco Camacho, Minister of Sports.
