In fact, we tried to help them get it out, but it was impossible, we couldn’t… three, four boys tried, but it was impossible, until security arrived. The rest of us were beaten, ”he said.

“Suddenly we felt a push and screams were heard. I saw many people who came in the last wagons to run. We didn’t know what had happened, I thought it was a person bringing a weapon or that there was a fight. Little by little we realized that the other Metro had climbed on top of ours, ”she explained.

In turn, María, a street vendor who works outside the station, indicated that she did not hear any “noise” coming from the Metro, but she could verify that many people were running.

“I was already here setting up my post when I heard screams and saw people coming out. I never heard any noise, nothing more than a man said: ‘the meters collided’. I saw people running from here to there, desperate.”

The seller stressed that after hearing the arrival of various security forces, she was able to realize that it was not an accident.

“I said, ‘Oh my God, what happened!’ And the ambulances and those trucks that are there (from the National Guard) began to arrive, but I don’t like to be on the lookout because I might faint.”

Elements of the National Guard (GN), the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), National Defense (Sedena), the Navy, as well as Civil Protection, the capital’s police and the SCT-Metro, agreed on the area to prevent the entry of people To the subway.

Outside the La Raza station, on Line 3, on Avenida Insurgentes, a support center was installed to provide first aid to those who required it.

The most serious were sent to seven hospitals, such as the San Ángel Inn, La Raza and Primero de Octubre, which were visited by capital authorities, including the head of the Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum.

Until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, authorities continued the expert reports. When they are finished, they will begin with the removal of the wrecked trains.

Through an information card, the Metro indicated that they will seek to restore the service as quickly as possible so that users are not affected further.

“In the area, personnel for the investigation of relevant incidents of the agency and the insurance contracted by the Metro also work. Metro engineers and technicians from the rolling stock and rail areas will be in charge of the inspection and tests for the reopening, following the corresponding protocols, ”he explained.
