Christ will be illuminated in a campaign to combat gender violence

To mark the launch of the “Feminicide Never Again” Campaign, the Christ the Redeemer monument will be illuminated in the color teal (teal) — global symbol of solidarity with survivors of violence and commitment to cultural change.

The initiative is co-led by the NO MORE Foundation, a global organization dedicated to combating domestic and sexual violence, in a strategic partnership with Embratur – Brazilian Agency for the International Promotion of Tourism, the Brazilian Communication Company (EBC) and the Sustainable Christ Consortium, formed by the Cristo Redentor Sanctuary, the Obra Social Leste Um – O Sol and the Instituto Redemptor.

As part of the campaign, the TV Brasil will run an awareness campaign between games between games with the participation of athletes, such as Raí and Formiga. Public broadcaster of EBCthe TV Brasil is the largest broadcast rights holder for women’s football in the country.

The announcement comes during NO MORE Week, an annual global mobilization dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of domestic and sexual violence. TV Brasil Petrobras Award for Them

At the same time and place, the TV Brasil Petrobras Award for Women will be launched, at the feet of Christ the Redeemer, an unprecedented initiative by Brazilian Communication Company (EBC) in partnership with Petrobras. The award was created with the purpose of being the main annual recognition of Brazilian women’s football, combining sporting excellence, institutional strengthening and social commitment.

The TV Brasil Petrobras Award for Women will be granted to fill a historical gap: the lack of an exclusive award dedicated to women’s football in Brazil. Voting for the award will be done among the captains and coaches of the Brazilian teams. The award will also have a “Women’s Football Against Feminicide” category.
