Two opposition lists led by congressmen José Jerí (Somos Peru) and José Cueto (Honor and Democracy) The Board of Directors are played, each accompanied by its three vice presidents.
José Jerí starts as a favorite to preside over Congress 2025-2026
José Jerí Oré is emerging as a favorite to preside over the board of directors of the Congress, backed by an alliance that includes Somos Peru, Popular Force, Alliance for Progress, Peru Libre and Popular Action, with a block of 67 votes committed. However, his candidacy is surrounded by a series of serious controversies that question their legitimacy to lead the legislative.
Jerí faces a complaint for alleged sexual aggression that occurred at a New Year’s party in Canta, where a 31 -year -old woman accuses the congressman of having violated her while she was unconscious. In addition, two other complaints against him have been admitted by the Prosecutor’s Office, for alleged illicit enrichment: his assets would have increased suspiciously from S/97,000 to about S/1 000000 in one year, without justifiable income, and for disobedience to authority, not fulfilling the order of the Judicial Power to submit to psychological treatment for the complaint of sexual violation.
What banks integrate the lists for the board of directors of the Congress?
List 1 was formalized on Thursday, July 24 by the spokesmen of five benches: We are Peru, Popular Force, Alliance for Progress (app), Free Peru and Popular Action. This coalition proposes:
- Presidency: José Enrique Jerí Oré (Somos Peru)
- First vice presidency: Fernando Rospigliosi Capurro (Popular Force)
- Second Vice Presidency: Waldemar Cerrón Rojas (Free Peru)
- Third Vice Presidency: Ilich López Ureña (Popular Action)
In his counterpart, and a later day, list 2 is headed by the congressman José Cueto Aserviof the parliamentary group Honor and democracyand represents an alternative option against the official majority. The payroll was like this:
