Chincha and Ica prison workers demand job stability

The internal security personnel of the carried out a work stoppage to demand job stability from the (INPE). They argue that for years they have been renewing their contract under the special Administrative Contracting of Services (CAS) regime, which does not allow them to access the benefits received by the named workers.

Yesterday, Thursday, November 5, the INPE technicians gave up entering to comply with their usual day. The measure adopted arises in rejection of the contractual link they have with the prison institution. “We don’t have any insurance. Something happens to us inside the prison and they don’t treat us. We have no risk of life, ”said one of the workers who joined this measure of struggle. He added that at the highest peak of the pandemic, some even had to work “with fever” and without medicine on the topic to address this discomfort. They were forced to bring their own medications.

“We have worked all the time with a pandemic and they have not given us anything. The masks they gave us were disposable, they didn’t give us good masks. They didn’t give us alcohol, we had to bring our medicines, “he said. He added that in this context of the health emergency there were CAS personnel who died without having the opportunity to access benefits.

The technicians request that they no longer be in the CAS regime and that the contract modality be indefinite, as has happened in other sectors of the State. They ask the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights to resolve their list of claims with a response that is not only positive, but also “dignified” for the benefit of all the employees of this establishment who are kept on paralysis of work.
