The head of the Chinese Diplomatic Mission Venezuela was received at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, by the Vice Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tatiana Pugh, among other authorities.
Venezuela-China relations
Venezuela and China They have maintained diplomatic relations since 1974, but it was with the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez, since 1999, that the bilateral link took on a strategic nature for the development plans of both nations.
In this sense, in 2001 the China-Venezuela High-Level Mixed Commission was created and thanks to the important steps achieved in the political-bilateral relationship, in 2014 the ties were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Association, during the visit of the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, to the country.
Venezuela recently became the first country invited by China to participate in the project of the Season International Lunar Research Institute (ILRS), which is under development and is expected to be built from 2030.
“Relations between Greater China and the Homeland of Bolívar have reached their best level of mutual trust, work and cooperation,” the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, recently emphasized.
