The provisional “antidumping” duties on polyacetal copolymers will begin to be applied from January 24 and will range between 3.8% and 74.9%, depending on the country and the company, the Ministry of Commerce reported in a statement.
“Dumping” is a business practice consisting of selling a product below its normal price or even below its production cost to obtain competitive advantages.
The plastics in question can partially replace metals such as copper and zinc and have various applications, including automobile parts, electronics and medical equipment, according to the ministry.
