China ensures that the measures taken by the US during the military deployment in the South Caribbean “represent a potential threat to the freedom and safety of navigation in the relevant waters and could affect freedom on the high seas that all countries enjoy according to the law enjoy
The Chinese government said Friday 26 that “it opposes external interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela under any pretext”, in a context in which the United States maintains a military deployment in the Caribbean under the argument of the fight against drugs.
The spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Guo Jiakun condemned in a press conference which described as “the threat of the use of force in international relations and the impairment of peace and stability in Latin America and the Caribbean.”
Guo said that “the United States unilateral coercive measures against foreign ships in the so -called international waters exceed the reasonable and necessary limits, violate international law and violate fundamental human rights, including the right to life.”
“They also represent a potential threat to the freedom and safety of navigation in the relevant waters and could affect freedom in the high seas that all countries enjoy according to the law,” added the spokesman.

According to Guo, China “supports the strengthening of international cooperation to combat transnational crime” and “urges the United States to maintain normal police and judicial cooperation through bilateral and multilateral legal frameworks.”
Already China has criticized The actions of the United States, whom they urged to “do more things that contribute to peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean.”
Since mid -August, the United States has deployed at least eight warships and a quick nuclear propulsion attack submarine in the Caribbean, as well as more than 4,500 military, as part of an operation against drug trafficking, something that Venezuela has denounced as an attempt to “regime change.”
This Thursday, the Venezuelan Chancellor, Yván Gil, asked the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean to be “spearhead” to stop what he considered the “madness” of the US.
