A Chilean student, identified as Consuelo Zambra Villalobos, died at the age of 23 after being hit by a taxi last Monday in the Střešovice district of Prague, in the Czech Republic, where she was doing an exchange.
According to preliminary information, a vehicle -without a driver- disengaged and hit her, crushing her against a wall. Despite the fact that emergency teams came to assist her, attempting resuscitation maneuvers, the student from the University of Chile died.
Consuelo Zambra entered the Bachelor of International Studies in 2018, as part of the first generation, graduating as an internationalist in December 2022, at the aforementioned house of studies, which regretted the fact.
“As an academic community we are deeply affected. During his time at this university, he demonstrated a strong vocation as an internationalist and a constant commitment to learning and getting to know the world,” said Dorotea López, director of the Institute of International Studies of the U. de Chile.
“We will always remember her because of her enormous human quality. For us it is a tremendous loss and our thoughts are today with her family, friends, colleagues, colleagues, and each of her teachers who will remember her deeply,” López added.
From the University of Chile they indicated that they are already in contact with the family of Consuelo Zambra Villalobos to cooperate with the necessary procedures for the repatriation of her body.
