As part of the visit he made to that country, together with a delegation of businessmen from Ciudad Juárezthe state leader announced the competitive advantages that the entity has for investments in the semiconductor supply chain, which sparked the interest of Asian corporations to establish themselves in Chihuahua.
At a press conference, he noted that The mission of the tour was to promote and attract investment from said region to the border area, generate agreements to promote commercial development and show that the entity is a national leader in the export of electronic products, with more than 37% of the total.
In that sense, Campos held important meetings with senior executives from companies such as United Microelectronics Corporation, one of the main producers of semiconductors worldwide, where he explained the potential that Ciudad Juárez has in this area.
In addition, he met with members of the Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA), which brings together the 200 most important semiconductor companies in Asia, and spoke with executives from Foxconn, Inventec, Pegatron, Wistron and representatives of companies not yet established in the state.
“Chihuahua has been a favorite destination for investments in the Asian region for more than 30 years,” highlighted the head of the executive, who added that the situation derived from Artificial Intelligence and technological expansion at a global level represents an unprecedented opportunity. for the entity.
Likewise, he confirmed to the Taiwanese leaders of this sector that, in Chihuahua, there is legal certainty, peace and tranquility at work, hydraulic infrastructure, electricity supply, talent development and support for those seeking to contribute to the development of the local economy.
As a result of these efforts, an agreement was made to train graduates of chihuahuan universitiesand the development of the sector in Anapra was agreed in terms of improving transportation and security, with the help of Foxconn.
An agreement was also established to train more than 100 employees in the Asian region together with the company Pegatron, and the construction of a technological campus that includes five buildings and a hotel on the border was proposed.
Finally, the governor highlighted that Chihuahua is a watershed of innovation and foreign policy, being the first state in Mexico to come as a guest of honor by the authorities and the business sector to Taiwan to develop a collaboration agenda of this magnitude.
