A WhatsApp chat used by the then head of presidential custody, Alejandro Astesiano, showed a conversation with the deputy executive director of the National Police, Jorge Berriel, in which he asked information on the case of the minor who reported a rape at a National Party party.
Astesiano wrote to him on April 3 who was with “the prez”, Luis Lacalle Pouand I ask: “Do you know anything about a party that was held for white youth and there is a complaint of abuse by a female?”
Berriel first handed him the police report that was dated the previous day, which refers to the complaint of alleged sexual abuse and describes the basic information that was disseminated at that time by the police: what happened at Chacra San Francisco and that the young woman he entered the Cerro Coordination Center convulsing. There appears the name of the mother of the minor, who was the complainant.
The next day Berriel gave him an enlarged part, where they appear the details reported as well as the names of both the victim and the accused.
Two days later, Astesiano wrote to him again that he was with the president and that they were not responding to the call he was making.
The minor’s complaint came after a party for the triumph of the No to the referendum against the LUC, organized by young people from the political force in a farm owned by legislator Sergio Delpino.
In the prosecutor’s office, the victim declared that she was raped by four men and a DNA test was requested. One of them claimed to have had consensual sex and another said they had not had any kind of relationship. It was this second that the DNA tested negative.

The forensic examination that was carried out did not detect acute lesions at the time of genital physical examination, although according to the coroner that element not conclusive to rule out rape.
On December 6, Judge Alejandro Asteggiante sentenced the Russian citizen Roman Karpov to 19 months of probation for a crime of using a false document or certificate – public or private – and another for the assumption of aggravated status, within the framework of the investigation about the band that integrated Astesiano.
It was the first sentence that the prosecutor Gabriela Fossati obtained for this cause, in which the falsification of documents for Russians and Ukrainians to access Uruguayan citizenship is investigated.
Fossati reached an abbreviated agreement with Karpov, in which the defendant assumed guilt for the facts and was able to obtain a reduction of up to a third of the sentence.
This Russian citizen was the first detainee in this case and was the one who allowed the manager Alexey Slivaev and the notary public Álvaro Fernández to reach. The latter’s chats, meanwhile, made it possible to reach the ex-custodian Astesiano.
The Court of Appeals of 3either Turno confirmed days ago the accusation of the former Uruguayan vice consul in Russia Stefano Di Conza for 14 crimes of fraud in concurrence outside of reiteration with 14 crimes of assumption of marital status, linked to this case. His lawyer, Florencio Macedo, had appealed the first instance decision of Judge Fernando Islas to order his preventive imprisonment until March 2023, but the court rejected it, according to the sentence to which he agreed. Based on the WhatsApp chats maintained by the former presidential custodian, another investigation was also opened, to which several police officers have already been summoned.
Police number two Héctor Ferreira resigned from his position on December 7, after the favors he was asking Astesiano through WhatsApp were made known. Ferreira is also being investigated for this cause.
