The National Guard (GN), in coordination with the National Migration Institute (INM), rescued 368 migrants who were abandoned in a clandestine camp in a mountainous area of Chiapas, including minors.
Of these, 217 were from Guatemala, 85 from Nicaragua, 45 from Ecuador, 11 from Honduras, seven from El Salvador and three from Cuba.
In a statement, the INM indicated that when carrying out security patrols in the municipality of Tecpatán, elements of the GN received a report about the unusual presence of people who would be transferred to the border with the United States.
