Delcy Rodríguez explained that the ship that left is the Canopus Voyager “with Venezuelan oil heading to the United States”, in “strict adherence to the regulations and in compliance with the commitments assumed” by PDVSA.
The Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that a ship from the American company Chevron left loaded with oil last Sunday, December 21.
This ship set sail, despite the tensions between Caracas and Washington and the recent seizures of three oil tankers in the Caribbean Sea as part of the military deployment that the US maintains in the area.
Rodríguez detailed on his Telegram channel that the ship that left is the Canopus Voyager “with Venezuelan oil heading to the United States”, in “strict adherence to the regulations and in compliance with the commitments assumed” by Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa).
Chevron operates in the country in association with PDVSA thanks to a license from the Treasury Department that exempts it from the sanctions that the US maintains on Venezuelan oil.
Delcy Rodríguez assured that “Venezuela has always been and will continue to be respectful of national and international legality” and that nothing will stop the progress of the nation.
Donald Trump’s administration announced a total blockade of oil tankers sanctioned by the US from entering and leaving Venezuela. To date he has seized three vessels, which he says have left the country under a false flag.
Nicolás Maduro classifies the confiscation of oil tankers by the United States as “piracy by privateers.”
