Omar Castañeda left the Morena group in the Chamber of Deputies to join the Movimiento Ciudadano (MC), which now has 26 members, while the cherry party dropped to 201. The legislator’s jump from Durango allows the orange party the minimum necessary of members to have a place in the Permanent Commission. Morena no longer has excuses, to deny itindicated the political force.

The MC leadership welcomed Castañeda, while in groups of Morenismo the deputy was accused of betraying the party again. It was recalled that since he could not be a candidate for mayor of Gómez Palacio in 2022, since that candidacy corresponded to a woman, he was upset and decided to support the PRI, as well as boycott the cherry political force.

Despite his performance in that electoral process, in the Morena group it was commented that he still dared to request the resignation of the leader Mario Delgado and Ignacio Mier, who was a delegate of the National Executive Committee in Durango, due to the poor results that were obtained. in the elections of that entity.

When announcing the arrival of Castañeda to Movimiento Ciudadano, the emecista coordinator in San Lázaro, Jorge Álvarez, stressed that his new partner is the deputy with the most votes in Durango.
