Because of the covid-19 pandemic, the traditional street blocks and carnival parades in the cities of Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Recife and Olinda were postponed or canceled and do not take place this February. Despite this, in some locations the date will be kept as a holiday or optional carnival point, which may change the operation of some services.
banks
Banks do not have hours during the holiday, informed the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban). With that, they will be closed today (28) and tomorrow (29) and will only reopen from 12 pm on Wednesday (1st), with branches closing at normal hours. In places where agencies normally close before 3 pm, the start of service to the public will be anticipated to guarantee a minimum of three hours of operation. Febraban guides customers to preferentially use digital channels, such as websites and banking applications, to make transfers or pay bills during this period.
Consumption bills such as water, energy and telephone and bills due on February 28th and March 1st can be paid, without surcharge, on March 2nd.
INSS
INSS agencies across the country are closed to the public this Monday (28) and Tuesday (1 March). Public service will only resume on Wednesday (2), from 2 pm, for those insured who already have an appointment. Those who had an appointment scheduled for Wednesday (2) in the morning do not need to go to the INSS – just call 135 and check the new opening hours. The INSS itself will make the markdown. During Carnival, the call center 135 operates during normal hours, from Monday to Saturday, from 7 am to 10 pm (Brasilia time). Citizens can call 135 to make appointments, ask questions or follow up on benefit requests. My INSS, on the internet, also continues to work normally.
Today (28) and tomorrow (1st) there is no service at the branches. Service and deliveries return on Wednesday (2). On that day, the agencies will reopen from 12:00. The Correios Service Center (CAC) also does not work on these two days, returning on Wednesday, from 8 am. The consultation of manifestations and tracking of objects, however, can be done through the Correios app or through the site from the company . The service units where the date has been brought forward work normally.
B3
The São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3) will not trade on Monday and Tuesday of Carnival, returning only on Wednesday, from 1 pm.
Saves time
The Poupatempo stations in São Paulo are closed for face-to-face service today and tomorrow. The service will resume from 12 pm on Wednesday (2), with prior appointment of date and time. Scheduling can be done through Poupatempo’s digital channels. To access, just download the Poupatempo Digital application, on your cell phone, or access the site of the Poupatempo.
