Human Rights Committees identified with Chavismo demanded on Monday, August 11 the liberation of activist Martha Grajales, who was arrested on Friday 8 of this month after participating in an act on the outskirts of the United Nations offices (UN), in support of the relatives of political prisoners who were attacked when they made a vigil before the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).

“We know that the revolution process has been well beaten and attacked by a genocidal empire, which has sabotaged us with its lackeys sells homeland, but they have nothing to do with it,” he said in a statement before the media Georgina Castillo, a member of the Human Rights Committee of La Vega.

Castillo, who spoke on behalf of the Caribbean and Tagua organization and the Committee of the Young Mothers detained from Cota 905, asked the authorities to study “well” the case of Martha Grajales.

The activist indicated that they do not intend to “hinder any investigative process”, but requested their release; since several days have elapsed since their arrest and the place of seclusion is still unknown.

Georgina Castillo recalled that Grajales is a defender of rights of the poor and condemned that in the country the defense of Human Rights continues.

“We were victims of the band of criminals of Cota 905, headed by the ‘Koki’, in that process, 20 young people who had nothing to do with the band were deprived of liberty (and) thanks to this comrade and the committee Pro Defense, we demonstrated the innocence after two years of struggle,” Castillo recalled.

The husband of Grajales, Antonio González, informed that, together with the lawyer Marino Alvarado, of the NGO Prova, he visited five police centers in Caracas last Sunday and in all, he said, “they have denied” the presence of the activist.
