Chavismo to the streets for Dignity Day this February 4

For this Saturday, February 4, 31 years after the Popular Rebellion of February 4, 1992, mobilizations are called throughout the country to commemorate the Day of National Dignity. The information was highlighted this Friday by Nahum Fernández, Vice President of Mobilization and Events of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

In telephone contact with VTVFernández reported in the case of Caracas, the mobilization will begin at the Zona Renta station of the Caracas Metro, in Plaza Venezuela, and that the concentration is called for 9:00 am and that the march is destined for the Paseo Histórico de Los Próceres, where all the mobilizations that are deployed from various parts of the city are expected to unite.

February 4 (4F) in Venezuela is recognized as Dignity Day in commemoration of the civic-military feat led in 1992 by Commander Hugo Chávez to overthrow the tyranny of the governments of the so-called representative democracy of the fourth republic, which They plunged the country into misery.

The Day of Dignity reflects the sentiment of the Chavista people regarding the courage and dedication of the military and civilians; men and women, who took up arms during the historic feat of the 4F, who gave their lives to achieve a nation with true freedom, democracy and social justice, bases of the Bolivarian Revolution.

In 4F, Venezuela experienced one of the main milestones in contemporary history and it was when Chávez made himself known with the phrase “for now” that predicted the coming to power of the popular forces that had already risen up and were again and again repressed during the Carupanazo and Porteñazo uprisings, both in 1962, or with the massacre caused by the indiscriminate bombing of Cantaura in 1982 to quell another rebellion in 1982, as well as the Yumare massacre in 1986 when social leaders and leftist militants were They were detained by the Disip (Intelligence and Prevention Services Directorate) and were assassinated by government agents of then-President Jaime Lusinchi.

But it is worth noting that the most recent motivation of those who rose up in 1992 against the Government of the then head of State Carlos Andrés Pérez, was the massacre of El Caracazo in 1989; when nearly 3,000 Venezuelan men and women were murdered who joined a popular outbreak of national scope that began in Guarenas, Miranda state, and was repeated throughout the country on February 27 and 28 of that year.

The Day of Dignity in Venezuela commemorates the historic feat of the uprisings against Pérez that opened the gap so that six years later, in 1998, Chávez was elected president to lead the transformation towards the Fifth Republic, but also dignifies the thousands of dead from the previous decades who faced the neoliberalism imposed by the US and its centers of power and who, in many cases, ended up being sacrificed, thrown from helicopters, bombed in the Sierra and riddled with bullets during raids on their homes from the 1960s until the end of the last century.

«The 4F is the consequence of a long and complex historical process, which was triggered by the excesses committed by the Punto Fijismo governments, and in a very particular way, the massacre perpetrated by the government of Carlos Andrés Pérez that February 27, 1989; events, known by the name of the Caracazo and that made possible, as the Eternal Commander himself pointed out, after years of organization and accumulation of forces, the historic birth of the Bolivarian Revolution”, highlighted in February 20201 Professor Adán Chávez, brother of Commander Chávez and current Venezuelan ambassador to Cuba.

«The Caracazo was the trigger for 4F; and this, in turn, meant the awakening of the people, which allowed once the electoral triumph of December 6, 1998 was obtained, when the vast majority of Venezuelans voted to endorse the project presented by Commander Chávez; start the process of broad transformations that has been taking place in the country for more than two decades: the transition towards Bolivarian Socialism”, said Adán Chávez regarding the commemoration of the 29th anniversary of the 4F.
