Chavismo rejects for irregular vote recount in the UCV

Together for Heritage publicly rejected this Thursday the recount of votes of the School of Education to represent the Co-Government at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) for considering it irregular.

Through a statement, the group of graduates of the UCV stated their position of rejection “(…) for being plagued by vices and irregularities”, of the third process of counting the votes of the School of Education, held this Monday, March 18. July at the facilities of the Electoral Commission, located in Quinta Selena, urbanization La Floresta.

In this regard, they denounce that they did not receive formal notification of this third ballot “evidencing the lack of guarantees regarding the custody and transfer of electoral material, as well as the security conditions and general transparency of the electoral process.”

Similarly, they indicate that the electoral event held on July 13 to elect the representatives to the University Co-Government as graduates “was plagued by many irregularities”, from the registration process.

Irregularities from the start

In the statement, the members of Together for Heritage state that the registration process for election day was characterized by “disinformation, unilateral suspension by the electoral commission on the day of the election, non-compliance with the electoral calendar planned and the non-inclusion of the electoral day in the nuclei of the university in the regions».

In this regard, they specify aspects in which they consider irregularities occurred among them: the use of ballots without a serial type or numbering, the insufficient printing of ballots, and the paralyzing of the members of the voting tables towards an electoral option.

Regarding these irregularities, they emphasized that “we were able to overcome these adverse circumstances, with a resounding electoral victory of Together for Heritage, in the Council of the Faculty of Humanities and Education, as well as in other UCV schools».

Reunion with the Alma Mater

In the statement, the members of Together for Heritage thanked the participants in the electoral processemphasizing that it was a reason for the reunion between the ucevistas with their Alma Mater, and an expression of their will for their recovery “being a reference of commitment to the country, in the fight against the shadow that our university manages today.”
