Chaufferes demand to stop fuel sale to 'chutos' cars and denounce lack of state control

The union confederation of Chóferes de Bolivia on Friday requested a rigorous control in the sale of gasoline and diesel, especially to undocumented vehicles, known as “Chutos” cars, which, according to their leadership, are aggravating the supply crisis in the country.

There are thousands and thousands of undocumented cars who are working in all sectorsand we don’t know who provides them with fuel. That has to answer the ANH, ”said Gomez, alluding to the National Hydrocarbons Agency, which he was responsible for not properly controlling the distribution and consumption of fuels.

The leader explained that before the ANH regulated the volumes assigned by department and supplier, but today that task falls to the General Management of Commerce and Administration of YPFB, whose action described as poor.

He added that the lack of regulation is feeding the smuggling of fuels, an activity that, he says, is public knowledge. “Everyone knows where diesel comes out and how it comes out. What is missing is political will to act. As long as there is no real control, no matter how much import volumes increase, gasoline and diesel will always be missing, ”he warned.

Gómez stressed that the indiscriminate sale of fuels to illegal vehicles not only harms formal carriers, but also generates unfair competition and deepens the economic crisis of the sector. “Drivers with papers in order, who pay taxes and are registeredThey do not get fuel, while the chutos circulate and supply without problems. It is inadmissible, ”he said.

The guild leader asked that a stricter control system be implemented in suppliers, which allows identifying and restricting Access to fuel to vehicles that do not have legal registration. He also requested that the government summon a technical table to comprehensively address the supply crisis and its structural causes.

The statement of the chauferes adds to a wave of claims of different productive and citizens sectors, which denounce endless ranks in suppliers, canceled trips and loss of income due to the lack of fuels.
