The ex-partner of the former administrative deputy director of the Attorney General’s Office, Alfredo Alexander Solano, implicated in the Medusa case and to whom today a judge varied the preventive detention measure, filed a complaint against him for threatening to kill her when she left from jail.
This was one of the arguments presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the hearing of the Third Investigating Court of the National District, where Judge Amauri Martínez heard the request to cease the preventive detention of the defendant involved in the famous case. jellyfishheaded by the former attorney general, Jean Alain Rodríguez.
According to the court attorney, Mirna Ortizthe judge changed from pretrial detention to house arrest and “did not take into consideration the call and cry of a victim who told the Dominican justice system, through a complaint, that her life felt threatened by Solano’s freedom.” .
The prosecutor also indicated that the complaintwho rests in the prosecutor’s office since January 26, details that the lady received constant calls from the Najayo prison from her ex-partner, where in some of them he warned her: “jail is not eternal.”
“The judge understood that this was not enough to keep him in prison either and that this was a different case from the case we were hearing,” said the deputy attorney.
In addition to varying the measure for house arrest, Judge Amauri Martínez imposed an impediment to Solano from leaving the country and an economic guarantee amounting to the sum of ten million (RD$10,000,000) pesos payable under the contract modality through a company insurance carrier.
The magistrate pondered that the court made that decision due to the expiration of the maximum term provided by law concerning 18 months of pretrial detention.
Defense: “It is nothing more than an act of populism”
While the defense of the former Administrative Deputy Director of the Attorney General’s Office, implicated in the Medusa case, maintained that he was going to demonstrate to the country that all accusations made by the Public Ministry against Alfredo Alexander Solano “is nothing more than an act of populism.”
The lawyer Yvo Rene Sánchez expressed that “the Public Ministry adheres to the Constitution and does not try to disobey or stumble upon the judge’s order with issues of making it difficult for them in the transmission of their freedom when the accused pays the bail.”
“The important thing is that with this measure of coercion the defense has convinced justice, and through justice society, that the preventive detention that Mr. Solano kept is not necessary. On the contrary, now he is in a better proportion to make his material and technical defense together with his lawyers, ”he said.
