Educational Summer at School No. 10 with full places and waiting list

With places completely full, a significant number of children on waiting lists and very good attendance, the first days of the Summer School Program in Cerro Largo are scheduled.

This is the case of School No. 10, which has the 75 places assigned by the authorities covered and a greater demand from the community.

“We are starting the second week of activities and the children are fully charged. “First thing in the morning, the Physical Education Teacher works with the Teachers and the Dance Teacher.” told the Teacher Yenny Charquero.

“Currently we have 75 children attending daily and a significant waiting list” revealed to THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL. “As families inform us that the children are going to leave, we resort to waiting lists. So far no one has been missing.” he assured.

“In previous years, attendance was much more variable. There were children who came for a week and then left, which allowed us to call those who were on the waiting list.” he remembered. “This year it has not been like that. In this edition everyone has been attending since the first day” he insisted.

The factors that are influencing this change in behavior in terms of attendance are several. “They are the same children who have always attended Summer Education. Many have been in Summer School since they were 4 years old. Perhaps this year families have had fewer opportunities to go on vacation or do so only on weekends. To this day everyone is attending, without fail” stood out.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

The Director of the Educational Summer at School 10 announced that the project this time is based on environmental education. “It is the line that the educational center has been working on for quite some time. We are continuing it with a recycling project that they themselves will work with materials they have at home and others that we have at school. From there they will develop the different proposals from the cultural and artistic perspectives.” he stated.

“In that sense, we have scheduled the first trip to Parque 19 de Abril where they are going to clean the space that we are going to use” held. “As our patio is very closed and the sun becomes unbearable, we move to the open space for physical education activities, the recreation proposal and strange hunts” he detailed.

DIDACTIC OUTINGS

“We have two trips planned to Fraile Muerto Beach, in addition to those we make to the Club Unión Pool for activities. There is also some possibility of going to the BIO PARQUE or the Rivera Park” he commented.

“The interesting and beautiful thing is being able to go out to other spaces and not always be inside the school” Charquero pointed out.

This year it is not planned that children from school 10 will be part of Cerro Largo delegations in camps outside the department.

The Director has been at this educational center for 13 years and another two in other schools. “I really like working on the summer proposal because it is more relaxed, it has many outlets, with another work dynamic beyond that there is a lot of emphasis on the curricular as well. The relationship and the bond with the child is totally different. Another aspect to highlight is the work with the parents who come and participate in the activities” ended up expressing Teacher Yenny Charquero.
