The Chapada dos Guimarães National Park, in Mato Grosso, was awarded today (22) to the private sector in an auction held at B3, in São Paulo. Parques Fundos de Investimento de Participação e Infraestrutura paid R$ 1 million, 9% above the minimum amount stipulated in the notice.
The contract is valid for 30 years and provides for R$ 18.5 million in investments. The concessionaire must renovate the trails, improve the parking lots, implement an internal transport system in the park and build structures for visitation.
Chapada dos Guimarães Park has an area of 32,600 hectares, being an important preservation area of the cerrado biome. In the area there are springs of rivers that form the Pantanal, as well as waterfalls and archaeological sites.
