Commander Javier Gallardo knows well who to listen to in his administration. Precisely, the opinions that he has been collecting recently are from the former director of the PNP, Miguel Hidalgo, who was investigated by Congress because during his tenure as head of the Dirandro two important USB devices were lost for the Business Track (BTR) case. .

In conversation with Perú21, Hidalgo confirmed having contact with Gallardo to offer him his opinions on different topics in the sector. “As a former commander general of the Police, I am obliged to contribute ideas and concepts that are not binding and that could help; I have done it with General (César) Cervantes and with all the general commanders, from the point of view of my experience ”, he asserted.
Likewise, Hidalgo stressed that his career supports him to contribute his “experience” to help his “institution from the outside, if that is what those who command it today consider it.”
Such is the trust between Gallardo and Hidalgo that the latter confirmed that last Monday he gave a talk on national reality to the 25 newly promoted generals.
“To all the colonels who were promoted to generals I gave a chair; It has been a very well given talk so that they have a much clearer and broader information on the scenario that is being experienced in the country ”, he said.
According to sources in this newspaper, Gallardo introduced Hidalgo to President Pedro Castillo on December 6 during the ceremony for Police Day. Then, on the 18th of the same month, Hidalgo met with the president in the Palace for almost two hours.
In this regard, he said the following: “I have had a professional and personal visit, it has been a broad conversation where various issues have been discussed from my point of view in drug trafficking, organized crime, public security, social conflicts and the participation of foreigners in crimes ”.
According to sources, Hidalgo volunteered to be Minister of the Interior.
ADMITTED DISABILITY
The PNP has been uncomfortable with Javier Gallardo’s decisions since a supreme resolution was published on September 3 in which he recognized that under his management the Police did not have the capacity to maintain internal order before criminal organizations.
Gallardo was the one who required the intervention of the Armed Forces to support the patrol in the streets of Lima and Callao, claiming that the crime exceeded “the operational capacity” of his institution.
